Emergency numbers and 24-hour UK helplines
Mobilise is not a crisis response service.
But there are many out-of-hours services and crisis helplines across the UK ready to help at any point in our caring role.
It can give us peace of mind to have both urgent and non-urgent numbers to hand.
Get urgent support in the UK
At Mobilise, we want to make carers' lives easier so we’ve listed helpful 24 hours national emergency numbers and crisis organisations.
999 emergency services
If you find yourself or anyone else in immediate danger, contact 999 for all emergency services, including the police and ambulance services.

If you, or the person you, care for have a hearing or speech impairment, use the textphone service on 18000.
If you own an Apple device, you can use the Emergency SOS on your phone and it will automatically contact local emergency services from where you are.
If you own an Android, depending on your device, go into your settings > look for SOS Emergency / messages.
112 emergency services
If you are overseas and find yourself or someone else in immediate danger contact the emergency services from any part of the world.

111 non-emergency health services
For illnesses or minor injuries that are non-life threatening but you need some advice on what to do.

For non-urgent enquiry for the police.

Samaritans
If you’re struggling to cope, having suicidal thoughts or are worried about someone else, a Samaritan is willing to help.

Mental Health Helpline
The 24 hours NHS urgent mental health helplines are open to people of all ages. It provides advice and support, for you, your child, your parent or someone you care for.
You can also speak to a mental health professional or get an assessment to help with the next steps.

A free, confidential and anonymous text support for those of us struggling to cope or who need to talk.

NSPCC Helpline
If you’re worried about a child, contact NSPCC 24 hours a day by email at help@nspcc.org.uk.
If you feel the child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999.
Other support crisis services in the UK
Domestic Abuse Helpline
The National Domestic Abuse helpline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can call them free on 0800 2000 247, or write to them using their website online chat from Monday to Friday, between 3pm and 10pm.
Papyrus UK Suicide Prevention
If you or someone you know (who is under 35) is struggling with their mental health or having suicidal thoughts, Papyrus are open from 9am to midnight everyday. You can call their HOPELINEUK free on 0800 068 4141 for confidential suicide prevention advice or text them on 07860 0399 67.
Suicide Prevention UK
If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health or having suicidal thoughts, call the Suicide Prevention UK free on 0800 689 5652. They have trained volunteers who are non-judgemental and willing to help people at their most vulnerable. They are open every day from 6pm to 3:30am.
NSPCC Helpline
If you’re worried about a child, contact the NSPCC's helpline on 0808 800 5000 or email help@nspcc.org.uk. If you feel the child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999.
Shelter
Shelter offers support to people across the UK on matters including council housing, homelessness, private renting, eviction, benefits and much more. They can help you to understand what your rights are around housing. You can call them on 0808 800 444 on weekdays from 8am to 8pm and 9am to 5pm on weekends and bank holidays
